Godlike, I am just trying to help a client and doing my job.

Steve, we all know the reason why the FHFA won't release them, my guess is because the overwhelming comments were anti-HVCC. I know of at least 10,000 comments at the time from a petition. They asked for comments just to show they were going through the motions with no intent of listening to the public or letting the public influence their decision. It wouldn't surprise me the reason they can't find them or show them is because they got thrown out.

Per HVCC code, the appraisal is to be portable. By lenders not accepting the appraisal they are violating the "Code". But where do you go to complain? nowhere and teh FHFA has not set up the site that was to be functioning last November. No Senator will assist in any complaint
stevetimper: (June 16, 2010 12:22pm)
I have already called ALL of my Legislators, B Frank and the 3 listed below, no busy signals!! The Federal Housing Finance Agency (Fannie and Freddie’s regulator), held a public comment period in mid 2008, and relied heavily on the comments received, when drafting the final version of HVCC. Yet, the FHFA refuses to make those comments public. Why? No Portability! Appraisals can't be transferred from lender to lender. If a consumer wants to change lenders, a second appraisal and appraisal fee are required. In addition to Barney Frank, please call the following US Senators and repeat the talking points: Senator Blanche Lincoln: 202-224-4843 (Fax: 202-228-1371) Senator Tim Johnson: 202 224-5842 (Fax: 202-228-5765) Senator Mike Crapo: 202 224-6142 (Fax: 202-228-1375) Fox News: Email Only [email protected] The 3 Senators are members of the Conference Committee. By flooding Fox News with emails, they will most likely investigate the story, because of the large number of email
msmammypie: (June 16, 2010 12:11pm)
Crapo - senator from my state of Idaho (it's a long a sound, Cray-po)

Stevetimper : "CCAP is drafting a letter that can be used (in part or in whole) by all appraisers and appraiser groups, teachers, and publications to lobby these members to include the "Appraiser Independence Requirements" in the final bill as part of the financial reform legislation. A draft letter will be sent to CCAP members (posted on CCAP's website www.CaCAP.org) early next week." You better hurry up - next week might be too late. Thanks for your efforts on all our behalf.

Title XIIII Subtitle E appears to be the one you mortage brokers and LO's need to weigh in on. Title XIIII Subtitle F is where appraisers need to weigh in on with their representatives. They are starting the final voting next Tuesday and will be voting title by title. If they go by the numbers they will have to vote in over 2 titles per day which would get our Subtitle up at or near the last day. But, we should pay attention to the meetings as we don't know when our concerns will come up and it will likely go fast, so we need to weigh in. Call (866) 544-7573 to be connected to your Senators. The following link will take you to a page where you can find contact information for your particular State Representative. http://www.house.gov/house/MemberWWW_by_State.shtml or you can just call the Senate number and ask to be transferred to your state House member. Yes, I've been working, no thanks necessary, just please do your part. Thanks
5pence: (June 16, 2010 9:21am)
They're not going title by title- they just voted on title 9. My fingers are crossed that logic, sanity and righteousness reign. Fingers, legs, arms and eyes lol
5pence: (June 16, 2010 9:18am)
It's on CSPAN 3 right now and they're talking about brokers. CALL!!!!!!!!!!
5pence: (June 16, 2010 9:17am)
I just called 4 times and plan to call at least 4 more times during the day. Every day until the Titles we are involved in are voted on.
5pence: (June 16, 2010 9:03am)
I decided to throw in a joke today since I'm usually so serious. The HVCC is no joke and needs sunsetting - actually, it needs to be blown out of the water.
5pence: (June 16, 2010 8:58am)
Ill appraiser. Gary Miller is a leader in getting the HVCC sunsetted. He knows it's illegal, as a matter of fact that's where I got the info and verification that the HVCC is illegal from. Sounds like good advice you got from Franks office. Here is a phone number that will connect you to your own states Senators and you can call that number and they will also transfer you to your state House rep. Call 866) 544-7573. It's toll-free and only takes a second! Get all your reps to sign Sen Miller's letter. Heck, call 20 times if you're in the mood. This has to be done, NOW. Once it's voted on, it's over.

A LO died & met St. Peter at the golden gates. "You did good helping people get into homes & donated to charity, but you told many fibs to the U/W's & were unkind to your processor & staff. We aren't sure where you fit..so, we're going to show you both Heaven & Hell and see where you feel comfortable." As they toured Heaven, the LO liked the mansions & golden streets, but the harp music got on his nerves. Then they showed him around Hell, he saw everyone had their choice of playing golf/tennis, hanging out by the pool smoking/drinking, dancing/playing cards. "This is going to be hard! Can I sleep on it?" Next morning they asked his decision. He replied, "Yes! Send me to Hell!" They opened up Hell but the picture had changed! It was just like you've heard with fire & brimstone. People were burning, tortured & screaming! It was hot & horrible!! "Hey that's not what you showed me yesterday!" the LO cried. St. Peters reply was cold & abrupt. "I know, You should have locked in yesterday."

Evil Genius: (June 16, 2010 8:44am)
5pence: BTW, Chinese? (sarcasm)No, that won't work. We'll use American dollars for American real estate. Remember "own a piece of the Rock" There are still good borrowers being shut out because of idiotic over-reactive guidelines.
mthibo: (June 16, 2010 8:33am)
I need help. I work for a broker and I have a customer who is looking to buy a manufactured home on a basement with an FHA loan with 3.5% down. I have been looking for a lender for 2 days, does anyone know of lenders who do these loans anymore?
Evil Genius: (June 16, 2010 8:23am)
5pence: I responded to your comment yesterday on yesterday's video discussion. You're a smart guy. There are eal answers out there for this whole mess. I consider myself an archtect and right now we need a new foundation from which to build. So with a typo or 2, I invite your direct contact. I'll share answers.
dgduarte: (June 16, 2010 8:15am)
did not see the facebook mkting
Ill Appraiser: (June 16, 2010 8:10am)
Thanks 5pence. Just called Franks office and the intern recommended that I call my state Senators and ask them to sign a letter being circulated by Gary Miller on the HVCC elimination so I would encourage all of us to do the same with our respective Senators.
MarcusSM: (June 16, 2010 8:09am)
Thought I was already registered for the HUD webinar...whoops. And then, you thought you could still register today...whoops--registration expired yesterday. We both goofed!!

Thanks guys for the link.
5pence: (June 16, 2010 7:58am)
I mean, it's being illegal should supercede all the facts about the harm it's done. It's like we're pleading with our government to curb illegal policies please. When it comes to legality, there should be no pleading or in-between or arbitration, it's simplicity itself, it's black or it's white, legal or illegal.
rgarrett: (June 16, 2010 7:56am)
thx for the raod map to the facebook video.
5pence: (June 16, 2010 7:38am)
Appraisers and brokers need to click naihp_cta.pdf just under the 6.1.10 video. It appears Marc has it right and we need to call the Senators listed - Lincoln, Johnson and Crapo. Crapo?? Anyway, Barney Franks number in Washington is (202) 225-5931. If you want to look up the stances of these Senators on the similar issues, here's a link that Steve provided yesterday. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE65D4FW20100614 .. What I don't understand is why no one is pushing that the HVCC without consumer protection, per the AGA and RFA, is illegal !! I mean, they're just ignoring that it's illegal??!! Raping the consumer is never legal.
GODLIKE: (June 16, 2010 7:36am)
CVBroker I'm betting the 28% who want more certification are those that are already FHA approved and just don't want anyone else to dilute their business. The only thing is they hadn't thought that more regulation would apply to them too. Who knows, then they might not be approved either. Yep, we definitely need more of the type of regulations we've been gettin' lately! ;)
Ill Appraiser: (June 16, 2010 7:24am)
Let's do this people! Please hit the naihp link to the right and contact the people Mark Savitt suggests. I already sent out 3 faxes and an email to foxnews. Let's do this before it is too late!
CVBroker: (June 16, 2010 7:18am)
For the 29% of you that think that we need more certification to broker FHA loans, are you out of your minds???!!! Have you not tired of the HVCC, NMLS, SAFE, MDIA costs, regulations, unnecessary testing, background checks, fingerprinting, credit checks and national requirements just to continue what we've been doing for decades?
Bono Vox: (June 16, 2010 7:16am)
Brian scares me. He's changed from soft, friendly Michael Chiklis in The Commish to hard, tough, mean Michael Chiklis in The Shield.
nickrapp: (June 16, 2010 7:15am)
Have you heard of any lenders that have started to sponsor third party originators for FHA loans?
T-Bone18: (June 16, 2010 7:04am)
Kojak= is not cool Moonshine man= very cool, and we really really miss him. How about doing a short interview with him on how business is??
frankgaray: (June 16, 2010 6:45am)
The face book video is the "realtor commission under attack" video on the right.. starts at about 3:54 on the time line when you open it. The FHA webinar on origination filled already. We'll keep on the lookout for the next one.
GODLIKE: (June 16, 2010 6:36am)
BORING! Except for the short, short nugget on FHA you missed the mark by a mile today.
afuentes: (June 16, 2010 6:32am)
You are not alone. I too would like this link and don't see it. Perhaps they can add it tomorrow.
