Mortgage Embassy FL: (December 19, 2010 8:02pm)
We have recently been issued only the 11th Mortgage Broker License in the state of FL and NMLS has updated our record accordingly; our MBR license # is MBR11, this is what tipped us off, the numbers are being issued in the order in which they are approved. The deadline to be in at least Pending-Review status is 12/31/10, otherwise we have been informed that we cannot originate in 2011 until a decision has been made on our application. FL joined the NMLS in October, my individual MLO license is #L0675, the highest number on the NMLS Consumer Access search engine for FL is #L0703 which also belongs to Mortgage Embassy. You were right about having to get back to a client in 6 months, none of our other loan officers will probably make the deadline and FL is warning they may take 6-9 months to make a decision on applications that were incomplete or submitted after 12/31/10. Either no one is applying or no one is being approved? If it's the former, they don't need 6 mos., it's the latter?

Brian, Frank,
How can I contact Hans Bruner to discuss his use of video for the servicemen family's message?

Ben. If by "rock the industry", you mean put the final nail in the coffin of the broker industry, you are right. Maybe we can all become "mini-correspondents" and keep getting reasonable compensation, but I doubt it. Remember the BIG BANKS have used the lending crisis as an opportunistic means to get rid of competition. The got rid of Wall Street as a competitor, and their lobbiests wrote the Barney Bill and FDIC regs that will put us out of business on April 1.

Well, 2010 isn't over yet, so keeping going on B2B marketing, purchase business, reverses, USDA, 203(k)s and whatever it takes to see as many people as possible or at least make contact.
But while sitting on my deer stand, will have camo notebook, writing down my 2011 plans and how to implement them. I have a copy of James Canfield's "The Success Principles" and it applies to the mortgage business.....a good read and Christmas present to those who have "lost the faith" in our industry. We may have to work twice as hard and long to make the same money, but it beats working as a drone for the big guys!

My Goal is to make as much money as I can Before April 1st and then evaluate which company I'm going to work for. This will be based on the new comp plan that is going to rock our Industry!
