Ok, this is really ridiculous. What Obama and his administration has done and is continuing to do that effects our industry is of major concern, or should be to all of us. Forget the comparison to Rush or Glenn. By pointing out the absurd actions of this administration Brian and Frank can have relevant opinions and should not have to defend themselves or be accused of being a“copy” of anyone. Get real, most people agree with what Rush and Glenn talk about and it doesn’t mean that they are copying anything from anyone. You obviously have a problem with these 2 stars, most people don’t. Keep talking Brian and Frank, don’t let these socialism supporters make you explain or defend yourselves. Point out the bad decisions being made that effect all of us in this industry. If someone is offended and thinks its political, WAKE UP, it IS politics that got us into this mess and its politics that is making it worse.

RE: Foreclosure defense - I came across a man who claims to be an expert Witness, Maher Solomon at http://www.foreclosureinfosearch.com (check out this site where he said, "As a field underwriter I reviewed files for purchase for a firm located in Thousand Oaks, California. I saw first hand how a file I rejected was submitted again and again and again until it was approved by a direct link to the Wall Street investor. When I returned to review the companies loans offered for sale there it was. A million dollar loan to a graduating high school student and a calculation to show the payment shock from moving out of his parent house after attributing the rent the student should be paying his parents." He is easy to talk to and very interesting about how to fight the lenders on UCC laws.

Don't forget who is really paying that 8.5% ROI for the Gov's bail out; the customers of the banks aka taxpayers. They have us by the cojones by charging high banking fees, interst rates on credit cards and any other way they can extract money from customers. Looks like a good hidden tax to me.

Why's there so many complainers!? PALEEZE people! Government & lending go hand in hand. How can you hear stories/news of one without the other!?!? HVCC is here to stay so stop complaining about it and figure out how to make it work for you, or get a different career. CE and Testing is also the new norm for originators & brokers, accept it or get out. Bankers will eventually have to do it too. So REALLY what does complaining accomplish!? Hold your head up, be postive and make things work for you! Frank & Brian nice job today, as always! Keep up the good work and variety!

Guys. try this simple script."Hi joe, i was just going over some old files and I came across your file. You closed a loan with us in August 2006 at a rate of 6.5%. I was just touching base to see if you have had an opportunity to lower that rate yet?" BOOM YES or NO. Go with it. If yes, "Well Joe, thank you for your past business, By the way, have you talked to anyone lately that I may have the opportunity to earn their business, either for purchase or refinancing?" BOOM ITS A NUMBERS GAME! THROW ENUFF MUD AGAINST THE WALL.....Good Luck!

amarine - "Government intervention saved us from a full blown depression!" Saved who from a full blown depression? Maybe the TARP funded banks but the last time I checked I'm losing hundreds of future customers each month due to foreclosures. It's great that the government is able to turn a profit and that the banks are now "stable" again but what about the average american? It hasn't trickled down to the average american because there weren't any guidelines in place to make sure that the money was shared. What are the democrats or republicans doing about that? Nothing. Both parties make me vomit.

Brian, the satire could have easily been directed the other way to make fun of the doomsday critics of tarp bailouts. satire is funny when it hits at an underlying truth, and in the case i think the truth in this story was that the bailouts actually seem to have been a good idea.

I would like to send them to you. I look forward to your show on a daily basis and would love to get your persepective on these proposed changes. please shoot me an e-mail where to send them.

It's funny... If the bailout WASN'T repaid, they would be complaining that the taxpayers weren't getting a return. But since their IS a return on the bailout money, they somehow jump logic and connect it to "socialism," "fear-mongering," "bigger government" etc. I'm here for news, not theory.

1) I was not refering to you. I was talking about the show today. It does sound more like a Beck/Rush show than an infomrational mortgage video. 2) I don't see how I'm not "allowing someone to speak freely." there's some pretty ridiculous comments on here today. socialism has never succeeded? anywhere? have you ever heard of switzerland? sweden? norway? ask the citizens there how it's working for them. they'll tell you that it's working pretty good. some of the happiest people on the planet live in socialist countries. wait til your insurance company refuses your care. reality check: obama is NOT a socialist, and the only people who really believe that he is, are also the people that listen to the beckster. here's a clue for you. I'm sorry "jerryscorner" that I started the political debate thing. I was truely interested in what the other person was thinking when it came to "prospecting after the election". It didn't make sense. I have been lending for over 20 years now and this is just another turn in the wheel. Regardless of what is said here, I think the show adds value and substance. People have a right to speak their mind as you did and we are usually all better by it. Put on your happy face, pull up the big boys pants and get to work!!! I look forward to hearing about your success instead of allowing someone to speak freely.

On the topic of asking for referrals... I just had a client call to tell me she fedexed us some documentation and she mentioned her brother's living situation. I told her that he needs to talk to us, and he should call. Seriously - it was like a light bulb went off over her head, as if she never thought about telling him to talk to us. It just goes to show even clients that love you, aren't necessarily thinking to pass your name on... we have to make opportunities for them to do so (dare I say, TEACH them to pass on our names).

it really kills me how short everyone's memory is on here. i find it ludicrous that you all seem to think obama's at fault here. the man inherited a shit sandwich from our previous inept president and everyone here seems to forget that. everyone also seems to forget the downward spiral that the economy was in when obama took office. sure he threw money at the problem...but have you forgotten what hank paulsen did? sheesh. at least the money obama spent is being accounted for and indeed, is turning a bit of a profit. the only profits that paulsen generated with t.a.r.p. were goldman sachs' profits. get real.

It's the little things they remember, the kindness in your voice, the late night phone call, the Friday afternoon status report so they can sleep all weekend. And it does generate new business. We've gotten about 60% of our business for decades. We seldom had to get out of the office and prospect until this last election.
SurveyStupid: (April 06, 2010 9:13am)
OK, how is a customer survey going to help? nearly every buyer hates loan officers after finally closing on their loan....Why? Because we have to ask them for blood samples and the grankids report cards etc...to satisfy scared wussy underwriters conditions. Having a customer tell that they don't like 45-60 escrows, pauing $100/day per diems, complaining they had to pay an extra $300 for two 442 re-inspections, and that we shouldn't change UW guidelines during the process of a loan will not create loyalty. It will reinforce how screwed up this industry is.

My business has taken a hit over the last 2.5 years the market tanked but I still constantly ask daily everyone I speak to for a referral! It's like having 2 guarentee settlements per month. My goal is to continue to build this referral database and sell it when I'm ready to get out of the mortgage industry.

You left leaning people need to leave the hosts alone. You are whining about them being too far right yet I think they tend too far left. Maybe that puts them where they should be. Like it or not, economic policy affects all business, including real estate, so they have to talk about it. Obama is a socialist and most of his advisors are hard core, radical socialists. That isn't even debatable. What can be discussed is whether or not socialism is Good or Bad. Since socialism has never worked anywhere, ever, not once, ever, I don't see the attraction. I have lived in communist countries and socialist countries and have no interest in seeing more of that in the US. What do you find appealing about it?

Hope that clarifies my position on things.
Q: (April 06, 2010 6:56am)
You guys are starting to scare me. I first tuned in because I thought there was useful information. While there still is, you are becoming more and more like a snippet of Glen Beck or Rush with your obvious disdain for the Obama administration. We can argue all day long about whether or not the administration policies are good or bad for the economy as a whole and for our industry in particular, but for my money, they seemed to do what was needed to keep us from a depression and now all indicators seem to be pointing toward a recovery. If I were you I would scale down on the rhetoric and stick to mortgage banking.

Additionally, anyone who doesn't think that Socialism is slowly seeping into our lives has not a clue. The incremental stealing of our liberties has been happening since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Europeans have attempting to dismantle the liberties of the US since it's inception. World domination is more prevelant among the elitists than imagineable. Simple and common folk have NO idea what goes on behind the curtain. Evidence of loss of liberties can be seen everywhere. The incremental and disguised efforts are almost invisible to those who's head is in the sand. Those that don't know or believe the constitution and bill of rights is being dismantled have been asleep and know not history. How easy is it to steal from someone who trusts the theif and has no understanding of the crime? PAY ATTENTION !!!
