SAM, If you want to live like a republican vote democrat, If you want to live like the have's and have not, republican is the way to go. This is for your understanding. The election of 53% to 47% voted for a change from the status quo politics of the past 8 years. When the supreme court selected George W.Bush, and the civilized citizens of this nation did not whine about it. The next election is in 2013. What you right wing nuts don't get, we was elected to lead this great nation, if you have any new ideas, not the same trickle down, ship out America's jobs to benefit the greedy rich. I support rich, but not greedy rich. Greedy rich is a cancer, it's the cancer that need removal. Simply put, let us lead, you follow and if you can't do that, please be considerate of the majority and GET OUT OF WAY.

I understand HVCC has been "sunsetted". Have no effect but the AMC's are still here. I get this to mean it will still be AMC's controling the appraisal work but now all parties may call to harrass the appraiser and demand corrections. The Feds will now be regulating the appraisers.

To TBWS-
Thank you for the contact info. I will contact you Monday morning. I am going to research some stuff and give you guys a call Monday. My feeling is this, if we can present the case that HVCC was either passed illegally or is being run as a monopoly, creating a collusion between the banks, we will have a much more successful approach in getting this thing destroyed. We all need to research the process, document possible violations, and then present our case to the media. I do not want to approach my contacts (both political and news) with a bunch of "Help me, my business sucks cause HVCC sucks". I want to come in with some fully loaded documented cases that will raise eyebrows. Talk to you all Monday.

once again its the people we elect to office who make the differance. school administrators are just as corrupt and bougth out as our politicians are, kids do not learn well in an environment that is not conducive to learning. interesting that money doesn't solve the problem but yet everybody wants as much as they can have (greed). monies directed right and with proper oversight will help bring about a better educational environment than what we have right now. an educated populace is corporate americas and the corrupt politicians worst nightmare. thats why, in my opinion, a liberal education is what is needed in our country. the more you know the easier it should be to make an education decision. knowledge is freedom, ignorance is slavery. i like to be free.

Finding solutions, you could not be more wrong. This is no longer a government of the people by the people for the people. It has become a government of the corporation by the corporations for the corporations with a whole bunch of self serving corrupt SOB's running the show laughing all the way to the bank. Reducing people's principal mortgages will not solve the financial crisis in the mortgage markets or in the economy in general. There is a far greater problem at hand which is rising UN-PAYABLE total debt at over 350% of GDP, a record high even more than during the great depression. An economic collapse is very much the end result no matter which way you slice it.

no one walks into running a country with experience. But if you get the position as a graduation present from your dad, then you can drive the country blindly into a recession as long as you have someone else to blame. There ya go blaming someone that inherited a mess, for that mess. The whole world is in a recession, not just us.Dont you realize? It doesnt matter who is in the driving seat, they are politicians...THEY ALL act the same, they just talk out of different sides of their mouths, but some say please and thank you,and some just put some of your own money on the nightstand before they leave, then take credit for creating the situation that gave you the money..there ISNT any difference between the pols and THATS the problem. They feather their own nests first, then the proletariat get the remainder.

principle reduction on home mortgages is the only option that will stop the foreclosure mess. it might not be fair but neither was AIG giving a AAA rating to MBS's made up of sub prime borrowers/loans. true capitalism only works when the market corrects itself. self correction of this mess would mean that all the investment houses and banks should take their share of the losses which would inturn destroy our current financial economy and in turn the worlds ecomonies. so everybody either come up with some solid solutions or let the markets take their true toll/losses and everyone worldwide can hope and pray that we make it out it this mess. by the way if you hate the U.S. gov't so much you must hate yourself, remember a government by the people for the people. we have elected officials in D.C. that will not work for solutions to this countries problems because they believe gov't gets in the way, it seems to me that they hate it when the gov't helps people but its ok to help businesses.

The world is largely unfair and uncivilized because people won't play by the rules and because there are people out there who write the rules or change the rules for their own selfish and greedy agendas. Just ask people like Larry Summers, Robert Rubin Phil Gramme about that. These are examples of people who changed the rules that caused the whole mess we are in.

Writing down principal for homeowners is morally wrong and unfair to the rest of us who do not own a home. So many homeowner's have benefitted with mortgage tax deductions, home equity that they tapped and spent, some even to live their homes for free for several months without making mortgage payments and they are offered principal reductions. This is just more rewarding those who do not play by the rules and screwing those who do play by the rules. I'm pissed.

I think Jerry Brown running B of A is akin to Obama running the United States of America. Completely unqualified to do the job and making decisions he has no damn right to do on the political and economic front with his lack of experience outside of orgainzing some bloody community tea party for old ladies to play bingo. According to an article I read on Lender Implode, there are 50 banks that have shared loss agreements with the FDIC. The banks are making profits from foreclosures when the property is resold. The FDIC is taking half the loss on the original amount and not the resale amount. That's why they aren't doing modifications

Jerry Brown is not a banker and to have him run B Of A is insanity. Politicans cannot even run our country on a balanced budget. I am assuming that this will be the end of capitalism and going forward with the social agenda that is currently in our political climate. Frank, if you are going into real estate... why don't you do a segment on all the houses that agents have had solid offers in on and the banks refused to short sale, only to foreclose and end up selling the home for 40-150K less than what they had a solid offer at. I am 1 agent and I have logged over 1M in losses to banks by thier own choice! 1M, 1 agent. I have offers that show proof and watch them after they sell and NO ONE is attributing any media to this issue at all! How many more agents such as my self have had this same experience and how much is there logged losses to banks in 1 year? I bet that will add up!!!!
Jcollins: (December 11, 2009 7:38am)
Frank,
HVCC, GO back a little and allow the LO to contact theri Appraiser. The Bank can go ahead a do a independent review. If the Value comes in different (say 5-10% or ?) Have have rebutal. If it looks like a bad appraisal/review then that appraiser is sent to the Board and must justify themselves. If the still can not then first offense fine, second Lic. revoked. This would seem to accomplish their goals and ours. We get to use our good appraisers and they get an independent appraisal,. As well as weeding out the bad appraisers and/or Reviewers. It also gives them a little more Gov. Which I am not fond of, but they seem to be. (did not sleep much so hopefully this makes some sence)

Frank..you are so right but unified appraisers is a pipe dream..I figure a third of the appraisers dont do residential work and arent affected by HVCC, a third of the appraisers werent getting any work before and are happy to work for $150 so that leaves a third complaining..with the brokers..If there is no problem with a bank owned in part AMC then I think Bank of America should let RELS take over their appraisal department and see how long that lasts..

CornerstoneKathy: (December 11, 2009 6:52am)
A thought on another angle to prove that the HVCC still doesnt stop LO's from contacting the appraiser is some way..anyone else..I have gotten orders and the contact person was the LO who then gave me the borrowers number..oops "it was an accident"..the borrowers who cry the sob story and tell us what they need to get the deal done..cleary prompted by the LO..or the AMC that broadcasts the orders out to multiple appraisers and the first one gets it..I hear they call their go to people and say I am sending the order over at 10.18 on Sunday night so be ready!! Is this happening to anyone else?? People will always think of a way around this stuff so they should just enforce what was already on the books!!

In the meantime, there is nothing stopping you from fighting HVCC so go for it. Somehow the appraisers need to find a unified voice within a person who IS an appraiser that represents them. That person needs to go and sit with Cuomo's office with a solution, not a bunch of gripes. In the meantime we are continuing our efforts to help. But if you don't see an update for a while that doesn't mean we've given up. There is plenty of other stuff going on out there beyond HVCC...
